Our Compliance Infrastructure: Built for Zero Tolerance
At Il Mondo, certifications are not a marketing asset. It is the operational foundation upon which every program we offer is built and the assurance framework through which every shipment is released.
Our Core Quality Management Standard
Il Mondo For Import, Export & General Supplies operates under a certified ISO 9001 Quality Management System — the internationally recognised benchmark for process control, operational consistency, and continuous improvement.
This certification governs every stage of our operation: from farm-level agronomic management and post-harvest handling, through to grading, cold-chain logistics, and documentation. It means that when you place a programme with Il Mondo, you are engaging a supplier whose internal processes are independently audited, formally structured, and systematically controlled.

BRC Grade AA & GlobalG.A.P. Available on Programme Request
We understand that premium retail and foodservice buyers frequently require supply chains backed by BRC Food Safety Grade AA (British Retail Consortium) and GlobalG.A.P (GGN) certification — the gold standards of produce safety and agricultural practice recognised across EU and UK retail.
Il Mondo meets these requirements through a rigorously selected network of certified packing stations and vetted grower partners, each independently audited and approved against the full criteria of both schemes. Where a buyer’s programme specifications require BRC Grade AA or GlobalG.A.P compliance, we allocate supply exclusively from within this certified infrastructure.
These credentials are confirmed in writing and made available upon programme request, prior to contract execution.

The Positive Release System
Certification at the farm and packhouse level is a prerequisite — not a guarantee of zero residue risk at the point of import. That is why Il Mondo operates a proprietary Positive Release System.
Every consignment undergoes dual-stage residue analysis conducted in ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratories: an initial field assessment during the cultivation phase, followed by a final, full-panel MRL (Maximum Residue Limit) analysis seven days prior to harvest.
No consignment is released for loading until a clean result is confirmed against the destination market's applicable MRL schedule — whether EU, UK, Russian (Rosselkhoznadzor), Canadian (CFIA), or Indonesian (BPOM) standards.
STEP 1
Approved Inputs
EU-approved pesticide list agreed with buyer before planting.
STEP 2
Field Assessment
ISO 17025 residue analysis during cultivation phase.
STEP 3
Pre-Harvest Lab Test
Full-panel MRL analysis — 7 days before harvest.
STEP 4
Positive Release
Clean result confirmed against destination MRL schedule. Then — and only then — the consignment ships.

Frequently Asked Questions Il Mondo's Compliance Framework
What certifications does Il Mondo hold directly?
Il Mondo For Import, Export & General Supplies holds ISO 9001:2015 certification directly, under certificate number ABC-827-QC26, issued by ABC Certification (EGAC accredited, IAF MLA recognised). This certificate is valid until 09 March 2027.
BRC Global Standards Grade AA and GlobalG.A.P (GGN) certifications are held by Il Mondo's network of certified partner packhouses and growers. These credentials are confirmed in writing and provided to buyers prior to contract execution on programme request.
What is the Positive Release System and how does it protect buyers?
The Positive Release System is Il Mondo's proprietary pre-shipment compliance protocol. Every consignment undergoes dual-stage residue analysis in ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratories: an initial field assessment during cultivation, followed by a full-panel MRL analysis seven days before harvest.
No consignment is released for loading until a clean result is confirmed against the destination market's MRL schedule. If a sample fails, it does not ship — without exception. This protocol has delivered consistent compliance across EU, UK, Russian, Canadian, and Indonesian market requirements.
Which destination market MRL standards do you test against?
Il Mondo's laboratory protocols are calibrated against the MRL schedules of all major destination markets: EU (Regulation 396/2005), UK (post-Brexit UK MRL schedule), Russia (Rosselkhoznadzor), Canada (CFIA), and Indonesia (BPOM).
For buyers in other markets, we can adapt our testing protocols to additional national MRL schedules upon programme confirmation. Contact our compliance team to discuss your specific requirements.
Can I request copies of certificates and lab reports for supplier approval?
Yes. Copies of our ISO 9001 certificate, partner BRC audit reports, GlobalG.A.P GGN numbers, and laboratory testing protocols are available as part of our standard supplier onboarding documentation.
Our compliance team is also available to complete supplier approval questionnaires, respond to technical information requests, and participate in pre-season alignment calls. Contact us at [email protected] to request your documentation pack.
Is Il Mondo's ISO 9001 certificate internationally recognised?
Yes. Il Mondo's ISO 9001:2015 certificate (No. ABC-827-QC26) is issued by ABC Certification, which is accredited by EGAC (Egyptian Accreditation Council) under CAB No. B-012109.
EGAC is a signatory to the IAF (International Accreditation Forum) Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MLA), which means this certificate carries the same international validity as one issued by BSI, TÜV, or Bureau Veritas — recognised by buyers and importers across Europe, the Gulf, Russia, and Southeast Asia.
