Il Mondo Export — Egypt's Farm-to-Port Agricultural Exporter
Redefining reliability in fresh produce export — from Egyptian soil to global supermarkets.
Il Mondo Export is an Egyptian agricultural export company headquartered in Cairo, Egypt, specialising in three core business lines: MRL-compliant fresh produce export (primarily
colored bell peppers and citrus), IQF (Individually Quick Frozen) vegetables and fruit processed in BRC Global Standards Grade AA certified facilities, and dedicated Contract Farming programs for international B2B buyers.
Founded to bridge the gap between Egypt’s rich agricultural potential and the rigorous demands of global retail markets, Il Mondo controls the entire supply chain from certified
farm to loading port — a model the company calls Farm-to-Port. The company operates a managed network of GlobalG.A.P certified farms and BRC-accredited packing stations, serving importers, wholesale distributors, and retail chains across Europe, Russia, and the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Il Mondo Export holds four internationally recognised certifications: GlobalG.A.P (GGN) for farm-level safety and traceability, BRC Global Standards Grade AA for packing
facility food safety, ISO 9001:2015 for quality management systems, and PRN (Packaging Recovery Note) for EU packaging compliance. The company achieves a 98.7%
customs clearance rate across EU ports and delivers 500+ containers annually to 12+ export markets.
From Egyptian Soilto Global Supermarkets
Il Mondo was established with a singular vision: to bridge the gap between Egypt’s rich agricultural potential and the rigorous demands of global retail markets.
We recognised early that modern importers require more than a supplier. They need a Strategic Partner who understands the complexities of Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs), cold chain logistics, documentary compliance, and the relentless pressure of retail shelf availability. A partner who loses sleep over the same problems they do.
By transitioning from traditional spot trading to a fully integrated Farm-to-Port model, Il Mondo built a robust network of GlobalG.A.P certified farms and BRC-accredited packing stations across Egypt’s most productive agricultural regions.
Today, we do not simply export produce. We engineer reliable supply chains — ones that our clients can build their retail programs around, season after season.
Our Mission
To empower international buyers with a stable, risk-free supply chain from Egypt — delivering consistent quality, full regulatory compliance, and complete transparency that fosters long-term partnerships and mutual growth.
The Farm-to-Port Difference — Why Control Matters
Most Egyptian exporters act as intermediaries — they buy from farms they do not control and pack in facilities they do not own. Il Mondo is different. We manage every step of the journey from the moment a seed is planted to the moment a container is sealed at port. This is what we call the Farm-to-Port model.

Our International Certifications
Every certification Il Mondo holds can be independently verified on the respective international registry. We believe in full transparency.
01GlobalG.A.P (Good Agricultural Practices) — GGN Certified
GlobalG.A.P is an internationally recognised private sector food safety standard for Good Agricultural Practices (G.A.P). It verifies that farms use safe, sustainable, and traceable practices in the cultivation of fresh produce.
Il Mondo's farm network is GlobalG.A.P certified with a unique GGN (GlobalG.A.P Number) assigned to each certified farm. Buyers can verify any farm's certification status and traceability chain directly on the GlobalG.A.P public database.
What it means for you: Every batch of Il Mondo produce comes with verifiable farm-level traceability. You know exactly which certified farm grew your produce.

02BRC Global Standards (BRCGS) — Grade AA
The BRC Global Standard for Food Safety (now BRCGS) is the leading global food safety certification, developed by the British Retail Consortium and widely required by major European retailers including Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, and Carrefour.
Grade AA is the highest achievable grade — awarded only to facilities that pass unannounced audits with zero critical non-conformances. Il Mondo's packing stations hold BRCGS Grade AA, confirming the highest standards of hygiene, food safety management, and operational control.
What it means for you: Your produce is packed in a facility that meets or exceeds the entry requirements of every major European supermarket chain.

03ISO 9001:2015 — Quality Management System
ISO 9001:2015 is the international standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS), published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It certifies that an organisation has consistent, documented processes for delivering quality products and services.
Il Mondo's ISO 9001:2015 certification covers all operational processes — from farm management and packing to logistics and customer service — ensuring consistent quality outputs at every stage.
What it means for you: Every process that affects your order quality is documented, audited, and continuously improved.
04PRN (Packaging Recovery Note) — EU Packaging Compliance
A Packaging Recovery Note (PRN) confirms that Il Mondo's packaging materials meet EU recycling and waste recovery obligations under the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive.
For importers selling into the EU and UK markets, using suppliers with PRN-compliant packaging removes a significant compliance burden and supports your sustainability reporting obligations.
What it means for you: Il Mondo's packaging is fully EU and UK market compliant. No hidden packaging waste compliance costs on your side.

Why Egypt? The Agricultural Advantage
🌞 Mediterranean Climate
❄️ Winter Supply Window
💧 Nile Delta Fertility
✈️ Proximity to Europe
📜 EU Trade Access
🏗️ Infrastructure
Egypt's climate produces year-round agricultural output, with the Nile Delta region delivering world-class bell peppers, citrus, and vegetables during Europe's winter production gap.
While Spain and other Mediterranean producers wind down from November, Egypt's peak bell pepper season runs from December to March — directly filling Europe's most critical supply gap.
The Nile Delta is one of the world's most fertile agricultural zones, benefiting from centuries of alluvial deposits and a reliable irrigation infrastructure.
Alexandria Port is 7–14 days by reefer container to major European ports — shorter transit times than South American origin and competitive with North African alternatives.
Egypt holds an Association Agreement with the EU, granting preferential tariff access via EUR.1 movement certificates for qualifying agricultural products.
Egypt has invested heavily in cold chain infrastructure, modern packing facilities, and port logistics — supporting the volume and reliability demands of international retail programs.
