Premium Easy-Peeler Mandarins from Egypt Murcott & Fremont
Continuous supply of vibrant, high-Brix Egyptian mandarins from November to April.
The reliable alternative for peak European and Russian winter demand.
Il Mondo Export supplies two premium easy-peeler mandarin varieties from Egypt to international supermarket chains and wholesale distributors: Fremont (early season, December) and Honey Murcott/W. Murcott (mid to late season, January–March).
Our Fremont and Murcott portfolios provide uninterrupted easy-peeler supply when northern European markets need it most. Egypt’s arid climate produces mandarins with exceptional sweetness (11%+ Brix) and rich color. With multi-region farm sourcing, Il Mondo stabilizes volumes and calibers for large-scale supermarket programs throughout the winter season.
All mandarins are processed in BRC Grade AA-certified facilities with strict cold chain at 4–7°C and maintained at 90–95% relative humidity throughout transit.

The Egyptian Valencia Season: February to June
Valencia oranges are Egypt’s longest-running and most robust citrus export. As the winter citrus season ends in Europe, the Egyptian Valencia season reaches its peak. Because of their naturally robust rind and excellent keeping qualities, our Valencias offer exceptional shelf life — providing a reliable bridge of fresh citrus deep into the European spring and early summer.
For juice processors, the February–May window is the most critical supply period of the year. Il Mondo’s fixed weekly loading schedules from Alexandria ensure your production lines never stop — whether you need retail-grade Class I cartons or high-yield Class II industrial bins.

Frequently Asked Questions AboutEgyptian Mandarins
Frequently Asked Questions — Egyptian Mandarins
We harvest only sound fruit and apply destination-approved post-harvest coatings. Produce is rapidly pre-cooled to 4–7°C before loading and maintained at 90–95% humidity with excellent airflow throughout the voyage.
This protocol aggressively minimises Penicillium and sour rot risks — the two main decay causes for citrus on long sea routes. Our 2025 decay rate on Murcott programs to Russia and Northern Europe was below 1.5%.
Can you segregate seedless Murcott lots for premium retail programs?
Yes. We manage variety-pure farm blocks. Each pallet carries strict block codes, and routine sampling for seed counts and Brix levels ensures you receive fully seedless, high-sugar programs meeting premium retail specifications.
Seedless lot availability is confirmed during the pre-season booking process — contact our team to reserve your allocation.
What is the difference between Fremont and Murcott mandarins?
Fremont is an early-season variety (December) with a bright orange skin, strong flavour, and excellent external appearance. It typically carries some seeds and is ideal for conventional supermarket programs.
Honey Murcott (W. Murcott) is a mid-to-late season variety (January–March), characterised by exceptional sweetness (12%+ Brix), thin skin, and seedless flesh when managed in variety-pure blocks. It commands a premium in European retail.
When is the Egyptian mandarin export season?
The Egyptian mandarin season runs from November through April: Fremont peaks in December, Murcott peaks January to March.
This window directly fills European and Russian demand when Spanish mandarin production declines from January onwards — making Egyptian easy-peelers a critical winter supply source.
