Green beans are sensitive to low temperatures. We pre-cool them quickly after harvest and maintain a strict 5–7°C transit temperature with 90–95% relative humidity. We rigorously avoid temperatures below 4–5°C, which cause surface pitting and russeting (chilling injury).
Packaging utilises perforated liners or flowpacks that balance moisture retention with ventilation to prevent condensation and decay.
